Edyis Darkbane and Fjola Lightbane

A pair of Val'kyr. One is black, the other is white. They share the same health pool. Darkbane does shadow damage, Lightbane does holy damage.

Split the raid into two equal groups, one for each Val'kyr. Each group will need a tank, healer(s) and DPS.

The key to this fight are the four portals that appear in the room. Two of them are light (white), and two are dark (black). By clicking on one of these portals, you will gain a buff of that color. This buff lets you do extra damage to the Val'kyr of the opposite color. It also reduces the damage you do to the Val'kyr of the same color. So DPS players will want to click on the portal of the opposite color of the Val'kyr you are attacking. The tanks will want a buff of the same color as the Val'kyr they are tanking because they will take less damage that way.

You will also see orbs moving in straight lines around the room. Some are white and some are black. If you touch an orb that is the same color as you, you will get a buff that increases your movement speed and damage. If you touch an orb that is the opposite color as you, it will hit you for damage.

During the fight the Val'kyr will cast Light Vortex or Dark Vortex. This is an AoE that damages all members of the raid. When you see the raid warning, you should click on the color (for Light Vortex click on the white portal, for Dark Vortex click on the black portal). If you have the correct color it will do no damage. If you have the wrong color in will do around 30k damage over 5 seconds. It is a channeled spell, so when it is over, switch back to your old color and continue the fight.

They will also cast shield of light or shield of darkness. Only one Val'kyr will use the shield at a time. While this shield up they will begin casting a self heal. If players can DPS through the shield in time they will interrupt the heal.

when shield is up dpsers need to change orbs to the right one for maximum dmg, thats probably one fault that happend?

Yes, our raiders kept attacking the shielded Val"kyr without changing colour and by doing so reduced our total damage on her. Melee DPS don't have to switch because it'll take too much time but ranged DPS/ casters should switch to the appropiate colour to maximize DPS.

Also sometimes we actually got the shield down but noone interrupted the cast.

BTW I think we had the wrong colour on the tanks. I think it's only the healers who should have the wrong colour so they don't accidently "steal" the
orbs from the DPS'ers.

Well tanks want to get the same colour buff aswell.
They get less dmg when they have it - and it's not their job to do a huge amount of dps.
Though bear tanks are pretty good dpsers - same goes for uldo.
But I think because we had a hard time healing the whole raid already - we really dont want the tank to loose alot of hp aswell.
That's my opinion though .. Question

practice makes perfect, but in this case, gear makes a difference aswell, easier to do more dps with better gear, but that will be improved next time aswell, we're gonna fuckin down them!
